GoPro Hero 8 Black release date: Why it’s important that the next entry should have improved battery life
The news about the GoPro Hero 8 is essentially non-existent at this point, and July is about to end. Tech enthusiasts can still somehow predict what the San Mateo-based company is planning for the series’ next iteration based on criticisms received by the Hero 7. Arguably the most requested upgrade that users want to see for the GoPro Hero 8 is increased battery life.
While Hero 7 can last an hour and 45 minutes, setting it at 4K/60 fps will drain the battery much faster and reduce that time by 45 minutes, and even though there are accessories out there that’ll extend the action camera’s shooting time, it reduces the overall positive experience of users. Thus, it’s imperative that GoPro Hero 8 addresses this issue if it wants to remain on top of the action camera market. Trusted Reviews reported. This isn’t even accounting the heating complaints that’s been widely reported.
Currently, Hero 7 isn’t doing a stellar job shooting at night as the footage produced by the action camera is noisy and blurry. GoPro Hero 8 should address low light performance if the company plans to outfit the next iteration with a forward-facing display.
The feature is one of the most requested upgrades by people, especially those who are constantly pushing out travel content. The GoPro Hero 8 could change all of this by outfitting the device with a larger sensor, opening up more features like a 4K/60 fps with the Superview turned on.
But again, this is all banking on the GoPro Hero 8’s battery life. With GoPro CEO Nick Woodman announcing that they’re going to be looking at improving all the lineup for the GoPro Hero 8, it’s understandable that users’ expectations are high.
The problem is the aforementioned silence of the company regarding the GoPro Hero 8 and what specific upgrades they’ve been making to make it stand out in the action camera market. That the company has been pretty consistent at launching a new version of the series during this month in the last several years, GoPro Hero 8 likely to come out in September.
