As new iterations of the action camera have been released during this month, the GoPro Hero 8 is expected to drop sometime in September. However, the San Mateo-based company has yet to offer any information about the eight entry, even though September is closing in quick.
The most likely of this is the return of yet another three iterations “GoPro HERO 8 Black, Silver, White” that will be priced at different tiers and will have their performance reflecting their costs, and most of the specs touted to include in the GoPro Hero 8 are coming from speculations. Trusted Reviews reported.
Some are hoping that the emergence of the DJI Osmo Action will force the company to lower the price of the GoPro Hero 8 to more competitive levels, according to wading into speculative territories. A $349 is looking like the RRP of the upcoming variant given that the Hero 7 and Osmo Action is hovering at this price mark.
Then a higher price should be expected, of course, if the company manages to outfit the GoPro Hero 8 with jaw-dropping hardware and software. But again, the price will likely stay within the proximal range of the abovementioned figure.
As such, most of the upgrade will likely be focused under its hood and the software that is running it. And with regards to the design, it’s unlikely that the GoPro Hero 8 will undergo drastic change on this front as its look is pretty much its identity at this point.
Of course, most of these are wishful thinking at this point as the company has yet to break their silence about what they’re planning for the GoPro Hero 8. Bringing back the video + photo capture feature would add more allure to the device as it’s been heavily requested by users following its disappearance when the Hero 6 came out. What’s more, an improved mic, 4K at 60 fps, and low light stabilization would provide the GoPro Hero 8 a much-needed upgrade to really pull away from its competition.
